The InertiA-Rise Story
InertiA-Rise was born in the summer of 2001 with Martin and 2 friends (Neil Lanaghan and Cain Unsworth) forming the band Monochrome. They then went on to recruit Glen Hupton on Bass and later Phil Burgess on drums. Due to work commitments and other reasons, Neil and Cain left the band leaving Martin, Glen and Phil as a 3 piece with Martin taking over the vocals.

With the only original link to Monochrome now being Martin the band decided to start afresh with a new name and new style, the name changed to InertiA-Rise and the band started writing new material with much heavier bearings.

New Life
Among the bands influences are the raw, blunt heavyness of Raging Speedhorn and Will Haven, combined with the emotion of Far and Hundred Reasons mixed in with the unpredictability of Mogwai and Tool. The band grew confident with their own material and recorded Demo1, a 3 track EP on December 22 2001, and while lacking the intensity of their live sound gave a good impression of what was to come. Demo1 was reviewed on Brokenwing Distrobution

With a handful of live dates played things for the band are on the up and InertiA-Rise has built up a loyal following.
March 2002 saw Inertia Rise going into the studio for a second time - because of the dissapointment of the production of the first demo, and because of the improvement in the quality of the songs. This time they came out of the studio with a much better quality CD with four tracks on it (Receed, Monsiur Donkus, Pyromane and Fits and Pieces) This E.P was called 'Play with Fire...' After recording this E.P Inertia Rise played lots of gigs around the Wigan area - selling out of CDs and gaining huge confidence from new fans with them getting more known all the time. Inertia Rise are a band that are determined to put the work in to reach their goals.
